Financial Support for Over 19s

Studying just got more affordable, and there’s never been a better time to gain a nationally recognised qualification. Gateway Education supports those over 19 who need financial education to get qualifications or change career direction. People pursuing education at Gateway Education may be able to receive financial support to help with the costs of a qualification.

Any U.K. resident aged 24 and above who enrols on to an approved level 3 or higher Further Education course, or aged 19 to 23 enrolling in a second or subsequent level 3 or higher Further Education course after August 2016, can apply for a government-funded loan to pay for the tuition fee. This will be paid directly to the college on your behalf – meaning you don’t have to pay anything when you enrol.

What’s more, you don’t have to start paying the loan back until you’re earning a minimum of £21,000. The amount you pay back depends on your salary in order for it to be affordable.

If you study an Access to Higher Education course and then progress to a full Higher Education course at college or university, your Further Education loan will be written off when you complete your Higher Education course!

Courses we offer applicable with financial aid include:

  • Level 3 Diploma In Health & Social Care
  • Level 3 Diploma In Children’s Learning and Development
  • Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocation Achievement (ideal if you want to become an Assessor)
  • Level 3 Diploma In Management
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (formerly known as CTLLS)
  • Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance
  • Level 3 Diploma in IT
  • Level 4 Diploma in Management
  • Level 5 courses available in August 2016

This includes all advanced or higher qualifications such as A Levels, Access to Higher Education Diplomas, other Diplomas and Certificates and Advanced or Higher Apprenticeships.

If you’re thinking about applying for a Gateway Education Apprenticeship, you can apply once you have the necessary credentials and reviewers at Gateway Education will examine your skill sets in order to validate your competence for the Apprenticeship. Studying in Higher Education or Further Education will allow you to pursue Apprenticeships to provide you with the skills you need for your future career.
